Physician Assistant - Intensivists - day shift
About the role
Mcleod Regional Medical Center, a tertiary care center and major referral center with four intensive care units and a 24/7 staffing model by both physicians and advance practice providers, is seeking a motivated Physician Assistant (APP) to join their team of critical care providers.
Essential Job Responsibilities/Expectations
- Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.
- Affords assistance to Providers in assessing patients’ needs based on data collected from the electronic medical record, floor nursing staff, and other MRMC staff involved in care delivery.
- Performs physical exams within prescribed guidelines and instructions of the Physician.
- Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' clinical problems and healthcare needs.
- Records physical findings, formulates a care plan, and discusses cases with the Physician to provide a comprehensive patient care plan.
- Communicates with patients and families to address any concerns when requested.
- Maintains professional clinical knowledge required for licensure and completes required training according to deadlines.
Job Requirements
- 1 to 3 years related work experience preferable.
- Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education: State of South Carolina Certification as Physician Assistant.
