About the role
This fellowship is designed for advanced practice providers (NPs or PAs-C) specializing in pediatric cardiology.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in inpatient and outpatient pediatric heart centers, including the PCICU, PICU, and stepdown units.
- Perform physical exams, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, order tests, prescribe medications, and manage patient care from admission to discharge.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop treatment plans, monitor progress, and ensure quality care.
- Educate patients, families, and healthcare staff, and participate in research, quality improvement, and policy development.
- Assume leadership roles, mentor learners, and maintain professional development and certification.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited PA or NP program (must graduate by December 2025).
- Current unrestricted licensure, appropriate certification (PA-C or PNP-AC), and DEA registration.
- Basic life support (BLS) and PALS certifications; ACLS preferred.
- Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and teamwork skills.
- Physical ability to perform procedures and patient care activities.
Schedule
This role involves flexible, 12-hour shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
