About the role

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is an independent health care provider who coordinates inpatient care through collaboration with the Physician for Critical Care patients. The PA or APN provides care in accordance with the objectives, policies, and procedures of the practice and the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner Advisory Committee.

Responsibilities

  • Provides comprehensive critical care services to patients in the ICU and IMCU, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of complex high-acuity conditions.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills, effective communication, and time management.
  • Coordinates aspects of patient care within a critical care environment.
  • Compassionately interacts with patients across different areas of care.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary rounds, care planning, and family discussions.
  • Performs appropriate interpretation of laboratory and diagnostic testing.
  • Performs and/or assists with invasive and noninvasive procedures in accordance with hospital privileges and scope of practice.
  • Thoroughly explains procedures to patients prior to testing.
  • Provides appropriate patient teaching as necessary.

Requirements

  • APN or PA certification.
  • Acute care certification preferred.
  • 1–2 years of acute care hospital experience preferred.
  • Current NJ state license, CDS, and DEA.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification.

Pay

$120,000.00 – $190,000.00 per year. The compensation offered will depend on the candidate’s educational background, skills, and professional experience.
