Physician Assistant - Emergency Medicine

Job Summary

The University of Utah Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to join their team. The ideal candidate should have at least two years of experience in Emergency Medicine and be licensed to practice in Utah.

Responsibilities

• Takes complex medical histories on patients referred by academic and community physicians.
• Performs physical examinations.
• Orders laboratory tests, x-rays, special imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures.
• Orders and supervises the administration of blood products.
• Develops treatment plans in collaboration with attending physicians.
• Participates in continuing medical education, including specialty and sub-specialty meetings.
• Assists in the collection of data for research projects.
• Orders consultations and interacts with members of other specialty medical teams.
• Participates in special projects and committee functions.

Requirements

• Current licensure to practice as a Physician's Assistant from the State of Utah.
• Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system.
• Minimum of two years experience working in Emergency Medicine as a Physician Assistant.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
• Knowledge of life span growth and development.
