About the Role
The Physician Assistant (PA) provides assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients across inpatient, outpatient, and ambulatory settings as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Conduct medical histories, physical exams, review diagnostics, and develop treatment plans.
- Perform procedures, prescribe medications, and manage patient care within scope and legal guidelines.
- Assist in surgeries as a first or second assistant when appropriate.
- Educate patients and families on care plans, resources, and medication side effects.
- Provide psychosocial support and ensure proper documentation adhering to regulations.
- Maintain high ethical standards, professionalism, and compliance with healthcare standards.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, serve as a resource for staff, and participate in research and quality improvement projects.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Active certification and licensure (e.g., NCCPA, State License, ACLS/BLS, DEA if applicable).
- Preferred clinical experience in the relevant specialty, with ability to demonstrate current competence.
