RHSC in St. Paul, MN is seeking an exceptional, patient-focused Physician Assistant to join our Emergency Department team in a dedicated night-shift position.

About the role

This role will include a mix of shifts providing care in our 11-bed emergency psychiatric unit and other areas of the Emergency Department, including triage. The PA will work closely with Emergency Medicine physicians, crisis clinicians, nursing staff, and the interdisciplinary care team.

This position provides direct patient care, including patient evaluation, diagnosis, ordering and interpretation of diagnostic studies, treatment planning, and procedures within scope. New graduates are not being considered at this time. Emergency Medicine experience is preferred, and psychiatric experience is also highly valued.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including evaluation and diagnosis
  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies
  • Develop treatment plans
  • Perform procedures within scope
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Completion of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)
  • Physician Assistant Certification through National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Current Minnesota license
  • Able to obtain Wisconsin licensure upon hire
  • ACLS/BLS/ATLS

Preferred Qualifications

  • Emergency Medicine experience
  • Psychiatry experience
  • PALS certification

Schedule

0.8 FTE - Typical Emergency Department night shifts.

Pay

Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role, including education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities as well as internal equity. Advance Practice Clinicians have the opportunity to earn additional compensation based upon their wRVU production.
