Physician Assistant/Clinical Instructor- Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine

Responsibilities

  • Academic (20% time):
    • Assist with labs in physical examination, clinical skills, and observe and review standardized patient experiences with students.
    • Facilitate small groups and workshops in interprofessional experiences for first- and second-year students.
    • Assist with remediation of standardized patient experiences.
    • Review and score SOAP notes.
    • Review and assist with MWU student medical documentation for completion in rotation management system, including but not limited to pre-rotation physical examinations and vaccine attestations.
    • Participate in admissions interviews for AZCOM.
    • Serve on AZCOM committees as assigned.
  • Clinical (80% time):
    • See and treat assigned patients of all ages in the Multispecialty Clinic, including the Student Health Clinic.
    • Teach students at the bedside as assigned and assess student learning.
    • Participate in quality improvement and peer review.
    • Engage in quality care programs and organize outreach for patient cohorts as assigned.

Qualifications/Education

  • A Physician Assistant Degree and experience in Family or Internal Medicine.
  • A license to practice in the State of Arizona, a DEA license, and be insurable for medical liability.

Computer Skills

  • Computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point).
  • Ability to adapt to electronic health record input.

Physical Demands

  • Sit.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Moderate noise level.
