Physician Assistant (Chesapeake Specialty Care)
About the role
The Physician Assistant (PA) functions as an independent healthcare provider who works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team, including otolaryngologists, allergists, audiologists, and plastic and reconstructive surgeons. The PA is responsible for providing comprehensive care to both well and ill patients in an outpatient setting.
Responsibilities
- Maintain active state licensure and memberships with professional organizations
- Complete required continuing medical education hours, requirements for DEA, etc.
- Maintain professional liability insurance
- Maintain clean work environment by using Universal Precautions
- Follow all standards set forth by HIPAA and Compliance Manual
- Maintain accurate, complete, concise, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
- Independently assess, diagnose, and manage patients within scope of practice
Requirements
- Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies or equivalent degree from an accredited Program
- Current Physician Assistant license in the State of Maryland
- National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification
- Current DEA registration and CDS license or ability to obtain upon hire
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
- Minimum one (1) year of physician assistant experience preferred; ENT/Otolaryngology experience preferred
- Proficient with electronic medical records and clinical documentation
- Excellent communication, organizational, and patient education skills
Pay
The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Exact salary will depend on geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor, span of control, education/training, and other qualifications.
