About the role

The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is seeking a motivated Physician Assistant to join our team with an emphasis in general cardiology. The role is outpatient clinic-focused, primarily based at Stansbury Community Clinic.

Responsibilities

  • Affords physical examinations and obtains medical histories to assess patient physical condition.
  • Formulates medical plans and prognoses based on patient conditions.
  • Collaborates with healthcare teams on patient care plans and treatments.
  • Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient health issues.
  • Initiates and/or recommends medical drug therapies or other forms of treatment in accordance with protocols.
  • Maintains compliance with medical records policies for accurate documentation.
  • Involves in quality improvement activities.
  • Counsels patients, families, and significant others on health and illness, promoting health maintenance.
  • Evaluates, plans, implements, and re-evaluates patient care, including emergency measures.

Requirements

The ideal candidate must hold current licensure as a Physician Assistant from the State of Utah and possess a RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system. ACLS, BLS, NRP, and ATLS certifications may be required by the department or privileging criteria.

Qualifications

Ability to perform essential job functions as outlined, including clinical competence, leadership, teaching, research, and communication skills. Demonstrated care appropriate to the patient population.

Skills

Strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams.
