Job Summary
The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is seeking a motivated Physician Assistant to join their team focusing on general cardiology. The role is outpatient clinic-based, primarily at the Stansbury Community Clinic. The position involves both independent work and collaboration with physician partners and other advanced practice clinicians.
Responsibilities
- Affords physical assessments by conducting physical examinations and gathering medical histories.
- Formulates medical plans and prognoses based on patient conditions.
- Collaborates with healthcare teams on patient care plans and treatments.
- Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and address patient health issues.
- Initiates and recommends medical therapies and procedures in line with approved protocols.
- Maintains accurate medical records and complies with relevant policies.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives.
- Counsels patients, families, and significant others on health and illness, promoting health maintenance.
- Evaluates, plans, implements, and reassesses patient care, including emergency measures.
Qualifications
- Current licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant from the State of Utah.
- Active RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system.
- Completion of ACLS/BLS/NRP/ATLS certifications may be required by the department or privileging criteria.
