Physician Assistant - Cardiology - Outpatient
Position Overview
Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Physician Assistant to join our outpatient cardiology team serving Waxahachie, TX. This role focuses on general cardiology in a clinic‑based setting and offers a predictable weekday schedule with minimal weekend responsibility. New graduates are welcome to apply, though prior cardiology experience is strongly preferred. Patient volume is approximately 16–17 patients per day.
Responsibilities
- Provide outpatient care for general cardiology patients
- Perform patient evaluations, follow‑ups, and ongoing disease management
- Collaborate closely with cardiologists and multidisciplinary care teams
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests
- Document care plans and coordinate patient services
- Participate in an infrequent weekend rounding rotation (approximately one weekend every 2–3 months)
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- NCCPA certified or eligible
- Licensed or eligible for PA licensure in Texas
- Cardiology experience strongly preferred
- Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire or transfer
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. No call requirements for APPs. Weekend rounding approximately one weekend every 2–3 months.
