Physician Assistant

About the role

This position provides comprehensive sleep medicine services. Hiring for multiple positions, including one to practice exclusively at the Farmington Health Center. Responsibilities include providing both primary and specialty medical services, with the ability to access and administer medications within scope of practice and according to state law.

Responsibilities

• Takes complex medical histories on patients referred for consultation by academic and community physicians.
• Performs physical examinations.
• Orders laboratory tests, x-rays, special imaging studies and other diagnostic procedures.
• Orders and supervises the administration of blood products.
• Reaches tentative diagnosis of medical, surgical and other conditions.
• Develops treatment plans in conjunction with attending physician to provide optimal patient medical management.
• Participates in continuing medical education to include specialty and sub-specialty meetings, clubs, boards and conferences.
• Assists in the collection of data for research projects.
• Orders consultations and interacts with members of other specialty medical teams.
• Participates in special projects and committee functions.

Requirements

• Current licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant from the State of Utah.
• Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system, obtainable within 30 days of hire.
• Certification in ACLS / BLS / NRP / ATLS may be required by department or privileging criteria.
• This position is patient-sensitive and requires compliance with immunization standards per CDC and hospital policy, with limited exemptions for documented medical contraindications or religious objections.
