Job Summary
The Division of Vascular Surgery is seeking a patient-focused, self-motivated Advanced Practice Clinician (NP/PA) to join our growing vein-care program. This full-time position is primarily outpatient and involves providing comprehensive care for patients with venous disease.
Responsibilities
- Cover comprehensive assessments of new and established vein-care patients through history-taking and physical examination.
- Formulate care plans based on patient condition, diagnostic findings, and evidence-based vein-care guidelines.
- Obtain informed consent for office-based venous procedures and counsel patients on expectations, risks, alternatives, and postoperative care.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic studies such as venous duplex ultrasound to support diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Manage follow-up care for patients undergoing vein-related interventions, including wound checks, symptom monitoring, and medical optimization.
- Collaborate closely with supervising physicians regarding treatment plans and escalations of care.
- Participate in office-based vein procedures if desired and credentialed, with skill development supported by the Division and Continuing Medical Education.
- Provide patient education on venous disease, conservative management strategies, and long-term vein health.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation within the medical record.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and standardization of vein-care protocols.
- Participate in clinic operations and team meetings to ensure smooth workflow and excellent patient experience.
Qualifications
- Current licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant from the State of Utah.
- Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system.
- Potential certification in ACLS / BLS / NRP / ATLS.

Pay
Pay Rate Range: $105,975 - $173,971
Schedule
Nearly Continuous: Office/clinic environment, patient interaction. Often: Exposure to infectious disease; repetitive hand motion; walking, standing, sitting. Seldom: Bending, reaching overhead.
