Key Responsibilities
- Conduct follow-up visits for pain management patients, averaging approximately three follow-up appointments per hour.
- Perform focused history and physical examinations related to spine, orthopaedic, and chronic pain conditions.
- Implement and adjust evidence-based treatment plans under physician supervision, including medication management and non-pharmacologic therapies.
- Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests and imaging to support clinical decision-making.
- Document all patient encounters, assessments, and plans accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in case discussions and care planning to optimize outcomes and ensure continuity of care.
Key Requirements
- Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) with current, unrestricted state licensure.
- Proven ability to manage a fast-paced clinical schedule and maintain high-quality documentation.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills in an outpatient setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and independently within a collaborative team environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to support a steady volume of follow-up visits.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care with a focus on safety and outcomes.
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience in pain management, spine, or orthopaedic practice settings.
- Familiarity with interventional pain procedures and related pre- and post-procedure care.
- Experience managing chronic pain patients, including opioid and non-opioid medication regimens.
- Comfort with EMR systems and practice management software in a high-volume clinic.
