Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct follow-up visits for pain management patients, averaging approximately three follow-up appointments per hour.
  • Perform focused history and physical examinations related to spine, orthopaedic, and chronic pain conditions.
  • Implement and adjust evidence-based treatment plans under physician supervision, including medication management and non-pharmacologic therapies.
  • Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests and imaging to support clinical decision-making.
  • Document all patient encounters, assessments, and plans accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in case discussions and care planning to optimize outcomes and ensure continuity of care.

Key Requirements

  • Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) with current, unrestricted state licensure.
  • Proven ability to manage a fast-paced clinical schedule and maintain high-quality documentation.
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills in an outpatient setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and independently within a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to support a steady volume of follow-up visits.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care with a focus on safety and outcomes.

Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience in pain management, spine, or orthopaedic practice settings.
  • Familiarity with interventional pain procedures and related pre- and post-procedure care.
  • Experience managing chronic pain patients, including opioid and non-opioid medication regimens.
  • Comfort with EMR systems and practice management software in a high-volume clinic.
