Position Overview

The Physician Assistant (PA) provides comprehensive, patient-centered primary care services in collaboration with a supervising physician. This role is ideal for a dedicated and compassionate professional who enjoys working as part of an integrated care team to deliver high-quality, evidence-based healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive medical care to patients in a clinic or health center setting under the direction of a supervising physician.
  • Conduct thorough patient interviews and complete medical histories related to the visit or presenting concern.
  • Perform physical examinations and document findings accurately.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests such as labs, x-rays, and EKGs.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment and management plans.
  • Prescribe or recommend medications and therapeutic procedures as appropriate within scope of practice.
  • Perform minor procedures such as suturing, injections, and wound care.
  • Provide patient education on health maintenance, family planning, and chronic disease management.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, behavioral health providers, and other members of the care team.
  • Refer patients for specialty or advanced care when indicated.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in Epic (OCHIN).
  • Participate in quality improvement activities, staff meetings, and ongoing professional education.
  • Ensure compliance with all organizational, regulatory, and ethical standards.

Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies
  • Current and valid State Licensure and National Certification as a Physician Assistant
  • Current DEA license (or eligibility)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Prior experience with Epic EMR preferred
  • Experience in primary care or ambulatory care strongly preferred
  • Five (5) plus years Family Medicine experience
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) preferred
