Physician Assistant
MainStreet Family Care is growing and seeking a full-time Physician Assistant (PA) to provide patient-focused care in urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine. This role is ideal for PAs early in their career, including new graduates, and offers extensive support through on-site training, clinical decision-making assistance, and a complimentary pediatric urgent care course.
About the role
This position allows you to utilize your full scope of practice, treating patients of all ages—from infants to geriatric patients—in a high-volume, fast-paced urgent care environment. You will lead a small team of medical assistants, serving as a professional role model and growing your leadership skills. The role supports rural communities with limited access to care, and most clinics qualify for tuition reimbursement or student loan repayment grants through state-funded programs.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat illnesses such as cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues
- Perform minor procedures (e.g., toenail removal, foreign object removal)
- Suturing and splinting
- General orthopedic evaluations and management, including x-ray review (with radiologist over-read)
- General dermatology and eye problem management
- EKG interpretation
- Emergency management and general GYN care
- Treat children of all ages
- Occupational medicine and telemedicine services
Schedule
Clinics are open 7 days a week with extended hours:
- Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
- Saturday and Sunday: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Rotating schedule includes every other weekend. Example:
- Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (ON); Wednesday, Thursday (OFF)
- Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday (ON); Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (OFF)
Qualifications
- Physician Assistant Board Certification required (new graduates welcome)
- MSN or higher education required
- DOT certification or willingness to obtain it (cost covered by employer)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with EMR and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred
