Physician Advisor Coordinator

This position is remote but requires you to live and work within 60 miles of an HCA Healthcare hospital (locations in FL, GA, ID, KS, KY, MO, NV, NH, NC, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA).

About the role

The Physician Advisor Coordinator will facilitate communication between Physician Advisors and in-house insurance Medical Directors to support peer-to-peer work efforts with external health plans. This role involves maintaining reports of outcomes and system process flows across multiple enterprise teams, including Case Management, Corporate Utilization Review Services (URS), Pre-bill Denial Units (PDU), and teams handling Authorization and Medical Necessity Denials.

Responsibilities

• Set up and coordinate Peer to Peer (P2P) reviews for Physician Advisors (PA).
• Collaborate with URS and Division PA’s on denial and P2P strategies.
• Manage multiple calendars and send/receive appointment invites via Outlook.
• Maintain knowledge of commercial payer denial and authorization strategies, practices, and contractual agreements.
• Stay current on CMS, Corporate, and Division UR requirements and billing procedures.
• Monitor P2P’s, observation (OBS) vs. inpatient (IP) cases, and update MIDAS with pertinent information.
• Prepare monthly P2P reports from multiple data sources.
• Maintain P2P impact reports for the Physician Advisors.

Requirements

• College degree preferred.
• Minimum 2-3 years of healthcare experience preferred.
