Physician Advisor

Position Information

Lee Physician Group is seeking an experienced physician (M.D. or D.O.) interested in an exciting role promoting ongoing peer education, dialogue, and subject matter expertise in either medicine or surgery. As a non-clinical physician advisor, this individual will work closely with physicians, quality improvement teams, case managers, and patients. The role focuses on optimizing patient throughput and experience in the acute care setting by ensuring accurate and complete documentation based on patient results and payor policies.

The ideal candidate must be a dynamic communicator who can effectively interact with peers and colleagues. They will collaborate to ensure appropriate patient status, manage payor denials, assist with documentation improvements, and optimize resource utilization through standardization. This role is suitable for someone passionate about learning and educating others.

The Physician Advisor will work 1:1 with the case management department and handle preauthorization denials. They will be assigned to one main hospital and float to other locations to support various specialties within the hospital. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with a rotating weekend on-call rotation.
