About the role
The Southeast Region of the Tennessee Department of Health provides women's health services, as well as primary care services, in the ten-county region surrounding Hamilton County. In this role, you will protect, promote, and improve the health and well-being of people in Tennessee by serving the uninsured in medically underserved counties in Southeast Tennessee.
This position is based at the Bradley County Health Department in Cleveland, but may work in surrounding county health departments, with travel reimbursement provided. Clinics are staffed by both physicians and advanced practice nurses and serve the uninsured population. The role offers an opportunity to leave the private sector and no longer worry about insurance, overhead costs, and quotas, while leading innovative methods of care in public health.
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care.
- Follow health department guidelines, protocols, and program recommendations.
- Be available to consult with other department staff.
- Provide chart review for APN charts as requested.
- Follow professional development directives from the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners, including having and maintaining a valid unrestricted medical license.
- Participate in county and regional based activities as requested by county and regional supervisors.
Qualifications
- Valid and unrestricted Tennessee medical license.
- MD or DO degree.
- Valid DEA license.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in a primary care specialty such as Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
