Physical Therapy Technician--Oakbrook
About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for graduated students (spring graduates) interested in pursuing a career in a medical/healthcare related field, particularly those planning a career as a physical therapist, physical therapy assistant, or occupational therapist who are considering a "gap year" before professional school. Interns will gain comprehensive education and experience in all aspects of clinical operations and workflow, including patient education, rooming patients, learning billing procedures, and various administrative responsibilities. Opportunities to shadow procedures and receive mentoring by the Genesis Orthopedics & Sports Medicine physical therapy team are also provided. This is a full-time, one or two-year, paid position, with some part-time applicants considered on a case-by-case basis. We are hiring for April 2026 and onward with 12-24 month commitments.

Responsibilities
- Assist the PT staff in patient care delivery within the scope of practice defined by state laws and the state Board of Physical Therapy.
- Carry out day-to-day patient assignments under the oversight of the Director, PTs, and/or PTAs, including exercise instruction and modality application.
- Report changes in patient findings to the PT and/or PTA.
- Maintain cleanliness and daily upkeep of the clinic.
- Participate in therapy supply tracking and ordering.
- Assist with front-end administrative tasks such as checking patients in, questionnaire completion, patient calls, visit authorization, and scheduling.
- Conduct physical therapy care within the scope of practice and agency policies.
- Follow company policies and procedures consistently.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Graduated students (spring graduates) pursuing a career in a medical/healthcare related field.
- Interest in physical therapy, physical therapy assistant, or occupational therapy careers.
- Willingness to commit to a 12-24 month full-time position (part-time considered on a case-by-case basis).
- Submission of a resume and brief letter highlighting qualifications, interest, and all relevant volunteer/internship experience.
