About the Role
The Physical Therapy Assistant delivers skilled physical therapy interventions under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. Key responsibilities include treating patients to relieve pain, maintain function, and enhance mobility through therapeutic exercises, manual techniques, and physical agents. The role involves documenting patient progress, instructing on device use, and collaborating with the care team to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
Responsibilities
- Implement treatment plans aligned with physician directives and state regulations.
- Assist patients with exercises, gait training, and device use to support safe performance and mobility.
- Observe and report patient responses and progress to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Contribute to quality improvement activities and perform additional duties as needed to ensure excellent patient care.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited PTA program with an associate degree.
- Current PTA certification or licensure per state law.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid driver's license and reliable, insured vehicle.
