Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) - Inpatient Rehab

About the Role

Implements patient care plans as directed by the physical therapist, treating individuals of all ages. Acts as a professional role model and a clinical resource for staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, families, caregivers, students, and healthcare providers using effective teaching methods.
• Follows and adjusts the treatment plan based on patient response, in communication with the supervising therapist, and documents accordingly.
• Implements intervention plans with activities that are functional and tailored to patient needs, using standardized outcome measures.
• Documents care in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
• Collaborates with the healthcare team, providing education and family training as needed.
• Communicates patient status, functional performance, and discharge recommendations clearly to the medical team.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in a related field.
• Licensure as a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Completion of continuing education on acute stroke care.
• Passing the board exam.
