Qualifications & Skills
- Associate's Degree in a related field
- Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in Illinois
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days
- Completion of required continuing education for acute stroke care
- Ability to adjust treatment based on patient response and evidence
- Effective communication and documentation skills
- Knowledge of standardized outcomes measures and regulatory standards
Key Responsibilities
- Educates patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare providers
- Follows and adjusts the therapist's plan of care, documenting all actions
- Implements functional intervention plans tailored to patient needs
- Uses standardized measures to assess functional performance accurately
- Collaborates with the healthcare team and provides family training
- Communicates patient status, performance, and discharge needs to the medical team
