Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) - Home Health

Job Summary

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) shall provide selected physical therapy interventions only under the supervision and direction of a Physical Therapist. The PTA uses exercise and modalities in the treatment of pain and movement disorders to help restore normal movement and function in accordance with the physician's referral.

• Providing services in compliance with all state and federal laws governing the hospital's operations
• Consistently maintaining confidentiality of all medical, financial, employee, computer or other information which might jeopardize the privacy of others
• Working as a team member to meet patient and departmental needs

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an APTA approved School for Physical Therapy Assistants. Completes annual educational requirements.
• Preferred Experience: One (1) year of Physical Therapy Assistant experience. Experience working with diverse populations including inpatient acute care, outpatient adult care, outpatient pediatrics, wound care, Home Health Care, and skilled nursing.
• Licenses: Current State of Alaska Physical Therapy Assistant License

• Valid driver’s license, current auto liability insurance and reliable transportation is required for Home Care Services.
• Certifications: Refer to Mandatory Education Policy and complete the required items within the given timeframe.

Pay

This position starts at $31.75 per hour. Step placement and rate of pay will be determined based upon relevant experience.
