Santa Cruz Post Acute is seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our exceptional rehabilitation team. Our skilled nursing facility is dedicated to delivering high-quality, resident-centered care in a supportive and collaborative environment.
About the role
The Physical Therapy Assistant works under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide therapeutic treatments that enhance residents' mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and overall functional independence.
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct physical therapy treatments following individualized plans of care developed by the Physical Therapist
- Assist residents with therapeutic exercises, gait training, mobility programs, and functional activities
- Accurately document daily treatment sessions, resident progress, and responses to therapy in compliance with facility and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with the Physical Therapist, therapy team, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members to support resident-centered goals
- Educate residents and caregivers on exercise programs, safety strategies, and mobility techniques
- Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations and professional standards of practice
Requirements
- Current Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) license in the state of California
- Graduate of an accredited PTA program
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and documentation skills
- SNF experience preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply
Pay
Starting at $45–50 per hour, depending on experience.
