The Warren Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, located in Queensbury, New York, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant to join an experienced team of rehabilitation professionals committed to helping each patient regain independence and achieve their rehab goals in a state-of-the-art rehab gym. This full-time position serves residents in a skilled nursing facility setting.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
• Current New York State Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) license (or graduate actively working toward obtaining licensure)
• Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric care setting preferred; new graduates with relevant fieldwork experience are encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist
• Measure and record resident's motor function, strength, and muscle performance
• Observe and document resident performance
• Treat residents using a variety of techniques such as stretching and massage, and assist residents in carrying out specific exercises
• Maintain resident confidence by keeping information confidential
• Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements
• Maintain a cooperative relationship among the healthcare team
• Apply current evidence-based practices consistent with the standards and recommendations of the American Physical Therapy Association
