This position is based at Slate Valley Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Granville, New York, a state-of-the-art rehab gym where a compassionate, experienced team helps patients regain independence and achieve rehab goals.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
• Current New York State Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) license (or graduate actively working toward licensure)
• Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric care setting preferred; new graduates with relevant fieldwork experience encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care established by the supervising physical therapist
• Measure and record residents' motor function, strength, and muscle performance
• Observe and document resident performance
• Treat residents using a variety of techniques including stretching, massage, and assistance with specific exercises
• Maintain resident confidentiality
• Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements
• Maintain cooperative relationships within the healthcare team
