About the Role
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) supports resident rehabilitation by assisting physical therapists in providing care aimed at improving mobility, strength, and independence.
Responsibilities
- Assist with patient care under the direction of physical therapists
- Document treatment progress accurately
- Collaborate with the care team to ensure comprehensive resident care
- Educate residents and families on care plans and rehabilitation techniques
- Recommend and assist with medical equipment as needed
- Maintain safety standards in all aspects of care
Requirements
- Hold an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) degree
- Valid South Carolina PTA license
- Proficiency in clinical documentation and communication
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare setting
- Physical ability to perform resident handling tasks (lifting, standing, walking, supporting mobility)
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Meet continuing education and licensing renewal requirements
- CPR certification, if required
