About the Role

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) supports resident rehabilitation by assisting physical therapists in providing care aimed at improving mobility, strength, and independence.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient care under the direction of physical therapists
  • Document treatment progress accurately
  • Collaborate with the care team to ensure comprehensive resident care
  • Educate residents and families on care plans and rehabilitation techniques
  • Recommend and assist with medical equipment as needed
  • Maintain safety standards in all aspects of care

Requirements

  • Hold an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) degree
  • Valid South Carolina PTA license
  • Proficiency in clinical documentation and communication
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare setting
  • Physical ability to perform resident handling tasks (lifting, standing, walking, supporting mobility)
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Meet continuing education and licensing renewal requirements
  • CPR certification, if required
