What You’ll Do
Under the indirect supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, the Certified Physical Therapy Assistant provides direct patient care and supports individualized treatment plans across inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Provide direct physical therapy services to patients from infancy through adulthood following established plans of care
- Apply principles of growth and development to deliver age-appropriate treatment
- Perform prescribed therapeutic exercises, modalities, and functional activities
- Use clinical judgment to monitor patient response to treatment and identify when Physical Therapist consultation is needed
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary care teams
- Document patient treatments and progress after each session in accordance with established standards
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
- Active Physical Therapy Assistant license issued by the Washington State Department of Health
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
