About the role

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Physical Therapy Assistant to join our dynamic team. As a valuable member of our healthcare staff, you will play a crucial role in assisting our licensed physical therapists in delivering exceptional care to our homebound patients. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals recovering from injuries or illnesses.

Responsibilities

  • PCT role performs visits in homes, ALF's, and ILF's.
  • Work closely with licensed physical therapists to provide rehabilitative services to patients suffering from physical injuries or disabilities.
  • Assist in the implementation of treatment plans, conducting exercises with patients, educating patients on proper techniques for rehabilitation exercises, and documenting patient progress.
  • Develop and instruct patients on individualized treatment plans, assist in performing therapeutic exercises and activities, monitor patients during therapy sessions, and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized therapy environment, ensuring that equipment is properly sanitized and maintained.
  • Communicate regularly with physical therapists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Aid in the implementation of discharge plans, including providing patients with instructions for continued care and recommending appropriate follow-up services.

Requirements

  • Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
  • Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of practice.
  • CPR certification.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Compassion and empathy for patients undergoing rehabilitation.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity necessary to assist patients with mobility and perform therapeutic activities.
  • Pelvic Health Experience and/or interest (preferred).

Qualifications

  • Preferred qualifications include prior experience working as a Physical Therapy Assistant, specialized training or certification in specific areas of physical therapy, proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems, and bilingual proficiency in English and another language commonly spoken by patients in the practice area.

Pay

This is a salary-based position, with the opportunity to receive a monthly bonus.

Schedule

This is a full-time, salary-based position. There are two schedules available:

  • Monday-Friday (8:00AM-5:00PM)
  • Monday-Sunday (7:00AM-7:00PM)
  • 7days on, 7 days off
