About the role
The Physical Therapy Assistant at Sentara will perform modalities/therapeutic interventions by accepted standards of care and department policies and procedures. They will participate/assist with updates in the formal plan of care to address individual patient needs, provide effective instruction to patients and families through standardized educational programs and/or individualized training, initiate, develop, and maintain collaborative interactions with internal and external team members, patients, and families to improve patient outcomes, and be productive and efficient in daily operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform therapeutic interventions under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist
- Assist in updating the formal plan of care to meet individual patient needs
- Provide effective instruction to patients and families through educational programs and/or individualized training
- Initiate, develop, and maintain collaborative interactions with internal and external team members, patients, and families
- Be productive and efficient in daily operations
Requirements
- Holds a current Physical Therapist Licensure Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Holds a current Physical Therapist Licensure Certification: American Heart Association (AHA)
- Holds a current Physical Therapist Licensure Certification: RQI American Heart Association (AHA)
Qualifications
- Associate Level Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from a CAPTE-accredited two-year associate degree program
