Physical Therapy Assistant

About the role

Provides skilled physical therapy services and interventions in accordance with physician orders under the supervision of a Registered Physical Therapist. Responds to requests for service by relaying information and referral to a Registered Physical Therapist. Implements and modifies the patient’s occupational therapy plan of treatment with PT supervision. Monitors patient responses to treatments and modifies them during treatment sessions as necessary. Observes residents and writes progress reports. Documents patient treatments, changes in condition, and other pertinent information as required.

Requirements

• Must have an active Physical Therapy Assistant license in good standing in the state of NY
• Long term care experience preferred
• Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
