Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • The program must be accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association.
  • Show evidence of interest in continuing education within the profession.

Duties

  • Conduct Treatment plans as established by PT under supervision of PT.
  • Communicate with PT, Rehab team members and/or referring physician regarding patients treatment program.
  • Maintain weekly (objective) progress notes, following documentation guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate daily attendance records.
  • Complete daily time logs, modality sheets, Medicare logs, change slips and any other required paperwork.
  • Supervise supportive staff in clerical and transporting duties as assigned.
  • Follow all established policies and procedures of the company.
  • Communicate the Physical Therapist's designed plan of care to physician.
  • Take a telephone order from the physician to certify that plan of care or change the plan of care.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift up to 10lbs overhead occasionally.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs from floor to knuckle occasionally.
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs from knuckle to shoulder occasionally.
  • Ability to pivot transfer up to 150lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to carry up to 50lbs, 200ft frequently.
  • Ability to push/pull 75lbs, 100ft frequently.
  • Ability to perform fine hand manipulation, bilaterally continuously.
  • Ability to perform heavy grasp, bilaterally frequently.
  • Visual acuity connect to 20/20.
  • Tactile discrimination.
  • Ability to stand up to 2 hours frequently.
  • Comprehensible verbal communication skills continuously.
  • Ability to drive up to 2 hours.
  • Ability to sit up to 2 hours occasionally.
  • Ability to perform squat, stoop, or kneel up to 15 minutes occasionally.

  • Frequent exposure to communicable diseases.
  • Frequent exposure to toxic substances.
  • Frequent exposure to ionizing radiation.
  • Frequent exposure to medical preparations.
