Physical Therapy Assistant

About the role

As an Enhance Rehabilitation physical therapy assistant, you will work under the guidance of a physical therapist to assist in treating patients. Your responsibilities include developing and implementing physical therapy treatment programs, assisting patients through all phases of treatment, communicating with patients about their conditions and responses to treatments, and providing continuous updates to physical therapists, directors, and facility staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist in treating patients following an individualized plan of care created by physical therapists.
• Ensure that every patient receives quality treatment leading to excellent functional outcomes.
• Develop and implement physical therapy treatment programs based on each patient’s specific needs.
• Aid patients throughout the various stages of physical therapy treatment and techniques.
• Discuss treatment options with patients and document patient conditions and responses in charts after each session.
• Communicate regularly with physical therapists, directors, and facility staff regarding patient progress and any necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
• Operate and utilize knowledge of standard physical therapy equipment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
• Current certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Experience in a clinical setting preferred but not required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Passing scores on the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE).

Qualifications

• Strong academic background.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Physical stamina and ability to lift and move patients as needed.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality.
