At Emerald Nursing and Rehab Columbus, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our skilled nursing facility team. Work closely with our physical therapists and nursing staff to provide high-quality rehabilitation services to our residents, improving their mobility, strength, and overall quality of life. This position offers full-time and part-time opportunities with flexibility in scheduling, including as-needed shifts.
About the Role
As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will work in a clinical healthcare environment, providing hands-on therapy and support to our patients.
- Assist physical therapists in implementing and modifying treatment plans based on patients’ needs and progress, providing hands-on therapy, and reporting any changes in patients’ conditions.
- Collect and document patient data, including progress notes, treatment outcomes, and responses to therapy.
- Educate patients and their families about therapeutic exercises, equipment use, and strategies for enhancing functional independence.
- Set up and maintain therapeutic equipment and assist patients with the use of therapeutic devices and aids.
- Work collaboratively with physical therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to patient care.
- Adhere to facility policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements, maintaining a clean and safe therapy environment.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited program.
- Current state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) in Nebraska.
- Previous experience in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting is preferred but not required.

- Proficiency in basic computer skills for documentation purposes.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move patients, perform physical tasks, and handle equipment as required for therapy sessions.
