Physical Therapy Assistant
About the role
The Physical Therapy Assistant at CHI St. Alexius Turtle Lake will provide physical therapy services under the direction of the physical therapist. Responsibilities include executing and progressing rehabilitation programs, designing and communicating home programs, welcoming patients warmly, managing challenging patient interactions, utilizing time and support personnel efficiently, teaching in-service classes, assisting coworkers, producing timely, complete, and accurate patient notes, discharge forms, and treatment instructions, and ensuring accurate billing for services and supplies.
Responsibilities
- Skilfully executes and progresses rehabilitation programs, and effectively designs/communicates home programs under PT supervision
- Welcome patients warmly, show genuine concern and compassion, provide verbal/non-verbal encouragement, and manage challenging patient interactions effectively
- Utilize time and support personnel efficiently, optimize personal efficiency during heavy workloads, and complete projects/duties on time
- Demonstrate willingness to work extended hours as needed, teach in-service classes, and actively assist coworkers
- Produce timely, complete, and accurate patient notes, discharge forms, and treatment instructions, ensuring accurate billing for services and supplies
- Build positive relationships with colleagues and providers, foster workplace positivity, resolve conflicts effectively, and maintain a consistently positive attitude
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved or credentialed Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of North Dakota
- Able to complete all duties required of a PTA including charting and documentation
Qualifications
Qualified candidates should possess a strong commitment to patient care, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. A bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy is preferred.
Skills
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is beneficial.

Pay
The posted compensation range is $20.65 - $29.54 /hour, reflecting the reasonable estimate of what CommonSpirit Health might pay for this position based on current market conditions.
Schedule
The Physical Therapy Assistant works on a PRN (Per Request) schedule, typically Monday through Friday, with a weekly schedule of .01 (one-tenth of a full-time week).
