Requirements/Qualifications
- Minimum degree of Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from an accredited university or college.
- Valid and unencumbered licensure to practice Physical Therapy in the State of Michigan.
- Must have verification card of current instruction in CPR.
Position Duties: Essential
- Assists in and makes recommendations for departmental policies, procedures, and standards of care as required.
- Presents in-service education for other hospital personnel and outside groups as requested.
- Keeps abreast of developments in the Physical Therapy field.
- Evaluates and treats referrals as appropriate in accordance with Physical Therapy licensure and based upon the age of the client served.
- Documents evaluation weekly or daily progress and records discharge summaries for patients being followed by the Physical Therapy Department.
- Aids in preparation and maintenance of department records as well as special reports.
- Informs physicians and other involved healthcare providers of relevant progress and status changes of patients.
- Collaborates in coordinating or providing educational experiences as related to Physical Therapy and clinical supervision for PTA students from Finlandia University.
- Complies with HIPAA requirements for security and confidentiality.
- Observes all infection control and safety policies and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of BCMH Corporate Compliance plan, Code of Conduct and reporting process of any compliance concerns.
- Shall be responsible for completing educational requirements.
