Hours: Weekends, Saturday-Sunday 7am-5:30pm. Some holidays required per critical staffing policy. Open to new graduates. Orientation conducted during weekdays, 3-4 weeks. Acute Care Experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Patient Care & Treatment

  • Conducts comprehensive evaluations, testing, and treatment for patients with multiple medical conditions
  • Educates patients and their families in a manner tailored to their needs
  • Develops and adjusts individualized treatment plans with clear, measurable goals
  • Ensures daily practices align with established patient care standards
  • Recommends appropriate equipment for patient care

Collaboration & Communication

  • Communicates effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team
  • Participates in interdisciplinary team conferences to enhance patient care
  • Works cooperatively with other team members to maintain a positive and results-oriented work environment
  • Collaborates with care teams and community resources for post-discharge planning and follow-up
  • Responds to requests for professional information or advice, referring complex matters to appropriate personnel
  • Mentors other staff, as appropriate

Operational Responsibilities

  • Plans treatment schedules for optimal staff and equipment use
  • Maintains productivity while adhering to quality standards
  • Monitors and ensures compliance with infection control and sterile technique protocols
  • Documents patient care details and records service charges accurately
  • Manages inventory, equipment maintenance, and work area organization

Professional Development & Compliance

  • Attends relevant educational in-services and professional activities to stay current on industry practices
  • Works with the Leader to develop a professional growth plan
  • Delegates tasks effectively as appropriate
  • Adheres to all applicable policies, protocols, and regulations
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements

Education: Graduation from a Physical Therapy Program accredited by CAPTE.

Experience: Less than one year of clinical experience as a physical therapist.

Licensure: A valid, unencumbered Physical Therapist License approved by Georgia Board of Physical Therapy.

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS).

Physical Requirements

  • Up to 25 lbs., 0-33% of the workday (infrequently)
  • Lifting 25 lbs. max
  • Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs.
  • Occasional to frequent standing & walking
  • Occasional sitting
  • Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing)
  • Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks

Environmental Factors

  • Factors affecting environmental conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks
  • Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure, Bio-hazardous waste, chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors, Communicable diseases, Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required
  • Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, and environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks
