GENERAL SUMMARY

The Physical Therapist administers physical therapy in accordance with state law regarding the practice of physical therapy in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. They must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and assess data reflective of the patient's status.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from a school of Physical Therapy approved in the year of graduation by the American Physical Therapy Association required.
  • Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from a school of Physical Therapy approved in the year of graduation by the American Physical Therapy Association preferred.
  • Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from a school of Physical Therapy approved in the year of graduation by the American Physical Therapy Association preferred.

Experience

  • New graduates acceptable.
  • One (1) to two (2) years physical therapy experience preferred.

Special Employment Requirements

  • Licensed (temporary or permanent) as a Physical Therapist in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
  • Criminal history check and Child Abuse Central Register (Childline) and Cogent clearance required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills required for effective interaction with management, staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Valid PA driver's license required for travel.
  • CPR certification is required and must be maintained.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide individualized care appropriate to the age-specific needs and culture of the patient served.

Physical Demands

  • Medium Work: duties require exerting 25 to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 lbs. of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible amount up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, and move objects.
  • Position involves bending, reaching, and stooping (occasionally in strained position) throughout shift.
  • Ability to transport self throughout facility is required.

Working Conditions

  • Works in well-lit office, gym, and patient care areas.
