About the role
We're hiring a School Physical Therapist to join our dynamic team at The Bancroft School - Mountainside. Our mission is to provide exceptional therapeutic services to students with special needs, helping them reach their full potential.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct and consultative physical therapy services, including assessments and treatments.
- Develops treatment plans based on IPP, IEP, and approved behavior plans.
- Conducts diagnostic assessments and reviews individual student records.
- Administers standardized tests, performs formal and informal assessments, and provides recommendations.
- Works with students, family members, residential direct care givers, education faculty, and staff members in the educational environment.
- Assists in developing individual educational goals and objectives.
- Provides individual, group, and integrated direct treatment, therapy, and skill development.
- Encourages independence and competency in students.
- Schedules sessions according to individual needs and School District mandates.
- Recommends adaptive equipment and environmental accommodations.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program with a minimum entry-level BS degree.
- Current N.J. State Physical Therapist license.
- N.J. State School certification.
Qualifications
- Compassion and dedication to working with students with special needs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of APTA Code of Ethical Practice, N.J. Physical Therapy Practice Act, and N.J. DOE guidelines.

- Proficiency in using adaptive equipment and techniques.
- Effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Full-time (12 month)
