Physical Therapist, Rehab Inpatient

About the Role

When you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you’re making a difference in people’s lives. This is a full-time, rotating shift position including evenings and weekends, providing Physical Therapy services to the hospital’s inpatients, day surgery patients, and pre-operative patients as per written orders within the established policies of the department and New England Baptist Hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Upon receiving written orders, initiate the patient care process of assessing the patient’s functional status and needs.
  • Formulate patient diagnosis and prognosis based on evaluative findings and interpretation of these findings.
  • Develop an appropriate and specific treatment plan of care, complete with measurable, realistic, and timely goals.
  • Reassess progress as needed based on established timeframes, patient response to treatment, or change in status.
  • Formulate a discharge plan and collaborate with the patient, patient family members, and other healthcare team members to successfully carry out the discharge plan.
  • Document patient evaluation, progress notes, re-evaluations, and discharge thoroughly and in a timely manner in the patient medical record.
  • Actively participate in walk rounds, verbal rounds, and patient care team conferences when appropriate.
  • Prepare daily patient charge records of treatments and supplies.
  • Participate in the Clinical Education Program through the supervision and instruction of affiliating Physical Therapy students and interns.
  • Supervise and direct Physical Therapy Aides and Physical Therapy Assistants in the performance of assigned tasks, when indicated.
  • Participate in staff meetings, departmental groups aimed at improving clinical practice, and in-service education programs both inside and outside of the institution.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills necessary for success in a multi-disciplinary, acute care hospital setting.
  • Complete annual safety testing and departmental competencies.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or DPT preferred.
  • MA licensure required.
  • American Heart Association BLS or Heart Saver certification required.
  • 1-3 years of related work experience preferred; new graduates welcome.

Pay

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay: $39.50 - $55.31. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, including seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
