Physical Therapist (PT) - PRN

About the Role

Our state‑of‑the‑art rehabilitation hospital in Weatherford, TX is seeking a PRN Physical Therapist to work as needed on weekends. The therapist will provide direct patient care, evaluate functional needs, develop and modify treatment plans, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to promote patient safety and recovery.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, evaluate functional needs and outcomes, and establish a plan of care; modify treatment as necessary.
• Conduct therapy practice within defined standards of care.
• Document evaluations, treatment goals, and plans in accordance with hospital requirements and guidelines, updating documentation timely.
• Coordinate, delegate, and supervise responsibilities assigned to support staff.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team on patient needs, treatment modifications, progress, and discharge planning.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff, assessing risks and implementing appropriate precautions.
• Comply with safety and Infection Prevention standards; may be required to work during inclement weather or staffing emergencies.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an inpatient hospital setting; inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred.
• Current Texas state license as a Physical Therapist in good standing.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.

Physical Requirements

• Significant amount of standing, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling, often for prolonged periods.
• Ability to lift/exert up to 50 lb.
• Visual acuity required for patient assessment and documentation.
• Acute hearing required for accurate patient assessment.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to operate equipment and computer keyboard.
• Possible exposure to bodily fluids.
