About the role
We are seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to evaluate and treat patients of all ages, adapting plans of care as needed.
Responsibilities
- Educate patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare staff using effective teaching methods
- Follow and modify the therapist’s treatment plan based on patient response
- Document interventions accurately in the electronic medical record
- Provide treatments such as therapeutic exercises, gait and balance training, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and aquatic therapy
- Coordinate with the supervising PT and communicate progress to referring providers
- Complete required annual education and documentation
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapy Assistance
- Licensure as a PTA in Illinois
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire
- Board eligibility with successful completion of the next available exam
- Must attend continuing education on acute stroke care
