Position Responsibilities
- Plans and administers medically prescribed physical therapy (PT) treatments for patients.
- Consults with physicians and/or other departments about the impact of PT factors on patient health status.
- Documents findings, treatments, and other patient information for medical records as necessary.
- Bills patients according to proper procedures.
- Educates patients/family on appropriate care and use of various therapies and/or exercise.
- Serves as an information and education resource for patients, families, and other members of the therapy staff.
- Participates in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations.
- Performs related work as required.
- Recommends solutions to patient care problems.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Hughston Responsibilities
- Utilize effective communication skills (written and verbal) interacting with co-workers, other clinic employees, supervisors, and outside vendors.
- Promote The Hughston Clinic's role in the community by greeting and interacting with all patients, families, visitors, vendors, and guests in a courteous and respectful manner.
- Serves as support or relief for other staff as needed.
- Demonstrates confidentiality in all aspects to include both patient and non-patient issues.
- Reflect THC values and is sensitive to TH.C's ethical and compliance principals in his/her daily activities.
- Promote resolution of concerns and conflict by routing through correct mechanism or resolving the situation.
- Able to prioritize daily functions/tasks.
- Display a willingness to put forth effort in problem solving.
Physical Demand And Working Conditions
- Lift and carry 50 pounds, move patients and equipment.
- Reach for and manipulate equipment and patient.
- Visual acuity, hearing, and speaking.

Position Requirements
- Experience: 2 years’ experience preferred.
- Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of physical therapy.
- Special Qualifications: Must have current state license in PT. Must maintain BLS certification.
- Outside Relationship: Must be able to relate professionally with patients, family members, facility staff and physicians. Interaction With Other Departments: All hospital and clinic Departments.
- Budget: Assist the director in working within the current budget.
- Assets Controlled: Supplies and equipment used in treating patients.
- Employees Supervised: COTA, PTA, PT Aides.
- Career Path: Director of Rehabilitation Inpatient/Outpatient.
