Job Summary

Vanderbilt Clarksville Hospital is seeking a PRN Physical Therapists to provide patient-centered rehabilitation services across multiple care settings, including Acute Care, Inpatient Rehabilitation, and Outpatient Rehabilitation. This role offers the opportunity to work with diverse patient populations while collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, therapists, and care management teams to support recovery, mobility, independence, and safe discharge planning.

Position Summary

Vanderbilt Clarksville Hospital seeks a PRN Physical Therapist to deliver services that help restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients suffering from injuries or disease. This role supports the hospital's mission to advance health and wellness through exceptional patient care, research, and education.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program
  • Current Tennessee Physical Therapist license or eligibility for Tennessee licensure
  • Certified Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Acute care experience preferred
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and clinical decision-making skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs physical therapy evaluations and develops individualized treatment plans
  • Provides evidence-based interventions to improve mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and functional performance
  • Collaborates with physicians, nursing staff, rehabilitation professionals, and care managers to optimize patient outcomes
  • Documents in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards
  • Supports discharge planning and care transitions across the continuum of care

Technical Capabilities

  • Rehab Therapist Patient Documentation (Novice): Demonstrates proficiency in documentation practices
  • Rehabilitation Therapist Patient Evaluation (Novice): Demonstrates proficiency in evaluating patients with physical deficits
  • Treatment Implementation (Novice): Demonstrates proficiency in providing treatment consistent with physician prescription and established plan of care
  • Treatment Planning & Goal Setting (Novice): Demonstrates sufficient proficiency in developing a plan of care that incorporates treatment interventions focused on meeting objective goals
  • Physical/Occupational Therapist Patient Education (Novice): Demonstrates proficiency in communicating functional impact of assessment findings, treatment interventions, treatment planning diagnosis, and disease process
