About the role
Murfreesboro Rehabilitation Hospital is hiring a Physical Therapist (PRN) to join a fast-paced and dedicated team. The position will be under the direction of a new Director of Rehab, with a flexible schedule that includes Saturdays as needed and occasional weekdays.
Responsibilities
- Treat injured or ill patients to improve movement and manage pain by providing services of rehabilitation, treatment, and prevention.
- Assess, plan, organize, and participate in rehabilitative programs that improve mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, and improve or correct disabling conditions resulting from disease or injury.
- Diagnose patient functions and movements by observing them stand or walk and by listening to their concerns, among other methods, and develop individualized plans of care for the patient, outlining patient goals and expected outcomes of the plans.
- Use exercises, stretching maneuvers, hands-on therapy, and equipment to ease patient pain, help increase mobility, prevent further pain or injury, and facilitate health and wellness.
- Evaluate and record patient progress, modifying a plan of care and trying new treatments as needed.
- Provide education to patients and their families about the recovery process and how to cope with challenges throughout the process.
- Complete discharge planning, including designing home follow-up programs when appropriate.
- Conduct individualized or group therapy sessions, such as Hydrotherapy or Therapeutic Movement Group sessions.
- Demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude towards customers always. Acknowledge and work to resolve complaints when patient needs are not met.
- Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Physical Therapy or Doctor of Physical Therapy from an accredited college or university, as required by state and acceptable for licensure.
- One or more years’ experience working with the population of the facility preferred.
- Current active professional license, or eligibility for endorsement by the state in which the facility provides services.
- CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
- First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.

Pay
The pay range for this position is determined by state regulations and ranges from $XX to $YY per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
