Responsibilities
- Evaluate patient needs
- Develop appropriate treatment plans
- Organize and conduct medically necessary physical therapy
- Restore function, prevent disability, decrease pain, and promote healing
- Assist in reaching patient's maximum potential
- Provide care based on physical, psycho-social, educational, and safety concerns for various age groups
- Work in a variety of settings including home health, outpatient, and inpatient
- Supervise delivery of treatment to patients
- Reassess patients
- Assist director of rehab with development of policies and procedures
- Assist with scheduling of patients
- Document patient care
- Afford daily operations of outpatient and inpatient rehab services
Qualifications
- Minimum of a baccalaureate degree in physical therapy from an approved school
- Current valid Physical Therapy License in Louisiana, or a temporary permit granted by LSBPTE
- Successful completion of long-term clinical rotations in inpatient and outpatient environments from an accredited PT school, or one year of recent experience in inpatient or outpatient practice
