About the role

As a Physical Therapist at Parham Doctors' Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, you will play a vital role in helping patients regain strength, restore mobility, and rebuild confidence following illness, injury, or surgery. You’ll assess each patient’s needs, create personalized therapy plans, and collaborate with physicians and the care team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes. Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient abilities and develop personalized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and the care team.
• Deliver evidence-based interventions to restore movement, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life.
• Monitor progress, refine therapy plans, and ensure accurate, timely documentation of outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on exercise programs, adaptive techniques, and safe practices to promote independence.
• Collaborate across disciplines to ensure cohesive, patient-centered care and smooth transitions throughout recovery.
• Lead by example—mentor therapy assistants or students while upholding HCA Healthcare’s values of excellence, compassion, and integrity.
• Manage clinical care of patients, ensuring satisfaction for patients, visitors, physicians, and staff while upholding ICARE values.
• Participate in and understand Quality Management activities.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills and understanding of hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
• Promote cost-effective unit operations and document care using appropriate tools.
• Maintain competencies in clinical areas and pursue professional growth and development.
• Comply with professional, regulatory, governmental, and departmental standards.
• Supervise students (optional).

Requirements

• Graduate of an APTA-accredited school of physical therapy.
• Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the State of Virginia.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Previous experience in an acute care facility preferred; new graduates will be considered.
