Physical Therapist - PRN - Acute Care

About the Role

PRN Physical Therapist position within Mizzou Therapy Services at University Hospital, providing advanced patient care and contributing to professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced treatment modalities such as heat/cold therapy, electrical stimulation, hydrotherapy, ultrasound, manual therapy, casting, and spinal traction.
• Perform comprehensive patient evaluations to develop individualized treatment plans aligned with patient goals.
• Document treatment and assessment data following departmental and institutional guidelines.
• Identify opportunities for professional growth through training, education, and supervision of students or assistants.
• Maintain licensure and ethical standards per APTA code and Missouri Practice Act.
• Administer treatments requiring licensed clinician skills.
• Complete patient assessments, develop and implement care plans, and document processes accurately.
• Participate in training, supervision, and department-specific responsibilities.
• Ensure compliance with licensure, ethical standards, and safety protocols.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physical Therapist in Missouri or via PT Compact multi-state privilege.
• Strong clinical skills with the ability to evaluate and treat patients effectively.
• Commitment to ethical practice, ongoing learning, and professional development.
• Physical ability to perform active, hands-on treatment and patient mobility tasks.
