Responsibilities
- Supervise research lab operations at this location.
- Direct and guide participation in research activities for Emory Physical Therapy clinical staff as appropriate.
- Participate in research grant proposal submissions.
- Technically supervise research grant funding activity in Biomedical and Rehabilitation Engineering, and Motion Analysis.
- Supervise publications and related activities as appropriate.
- Provide patient care for physical therapy patients at Emory Physical Therapy, Johns Creek.
- Assess and evaluate patients/clients for the purpose of treatment, injury prevention, and health promotion.
- Establish and modify a plan of care with associated goals, including quantifiable physical and functional targets.
- Delegate appropriate therapy activities to ancillary staff members and provide supervision of staff members.
- Collaborate with referrers to establish an optimal plan of care.
- Assess educational needs of patients, families, caregivers, or significant others and provide education.
- Plan and manage timely and appropriate patient discharge and outcome follow-up.
- Communicate with patients, families, caregivers, significant others, and members of the healthcare team to promote maximum benefit and coordination of care.
Qualifications
- Licenses/Certifications: Physical Therapy PhD, Current physical therapist license in Georgia, Current Basic Life Support/CPR Card.
- Experience and Skills: Minimum 10 years of clinical exposure, Extensive research experience.
